I’m a composer and pianist who writes music that keeps rehearsals moving and hands down. That doesn’t mean it’s tame; it’s just made with enough sense that nobody has to guess what’s happening.

At Lawrence University, I studied Music Composition (BM) and Art History (BA), developing a practice rooted in architectural clarity. I spent an intensive summer at the Juilliard-run European American Musical Alliance in Paris refining counterpoint and harmonic technique through the Boulanger method. My work has been performed throughout the Midwest and received awards from the Wisconsin School Music Association.

As a pianist, I play for the Milwaukee Ballet and accompany local school and theater programs. I’ve music directed nearly a dozen productions and sung with just as many choirs. Alden maintains an active career as a pianist and vocalist. For the 2026–2027 season I perform with the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus as a Paid Core singer.
